Thanks to the parents and students who joined us for our virtual board meeting last Wednesday.  Special thanks to all the volunteers who are helping get this unusual year off to a good start - booster support is needed more than ever! Mr. Fore shared a little bit about what band classes “look like.”

​Our priorities to start the year include 1) welcoming new members and promoting a sense of community for our students, and 2) providing financial support for a meaningful and safe band experience this year. Financial priorities include instructional staff for small-group virtual instruction, new music for small-group collaboration, new instruments (students can no longer share), and PPE for our eventual return to in-person band.

We are planning two fundraisers this fall: 1) a virtual “Tag Week” in October, and 2) a contact-less citrus (or citrus alternative) sale to coincide with the fall holidays. On the logistics side, we’ll be tackling uniform inventory and cleaning. Email Melissa at [email protected] with questions.

Our next virtual booster meeting will be on October 6. This event is open to all Band Family members.

Hi, Band Family! Our first Band Together Friday was a huge success! We had over 30 people watching videos of our amazing band dating from 1999! We have definitely come a long way since then. We also saw the footage from the historic Pearl Harbor Day parade in Hawaii and our famous Viking halftime show from last year. Please look in your email for the weekly band email which has links to the videos.

We will continue this event bi-weekly with the next event on 9/25/2020. Look for details in next week’s email.
