Today we had our first virtual meeting with our Marching Band Leadership as well as a color guard interest meeting. In person Marching Band practice will start outside this Wednesday with our Battery and Color Guard!
We are very excited to see all the students in person, so be sure to get your Emergency Care form and the Health Screening Commitment form filled in, printed out and brought in with your student. We will be holding in person Marching Band on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please check your email for the schedule. Here are some important guidelines: Students will always need to wear masks. Bell covers will be provided for all instruments. Percussion mallets will not be shared. Students will need to provide their own water bottles. Social distancing should be observed before/during/after rehearsals. Students should bring their instrument with them and then take them home from rehearsal except for Sousaphone, Mellophone, and Marching Baritone. Each of those students will be assigned a locker or space in the band room for storage. Lockers will not be shared. Virtual students can participate in Monday and Wednesday rehearsals if they would like to be a part of the marching band. WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE!!!!! Our monthly Band Booster Board meeting is this Tuesday, March 9th, at 7pm. We will begin the meeting with Q&A on the recommended bylaws revisions that were emailed to all parents on February 15th. Parents, if you have questions or would like to learn more about the recommended changes, please plan to attend. In addition to discussing the bylaws, we’ll hear from Mr. Fore about the resumption of in person band activities, discuss plans for senior recognition, the Grayson Fore scholarship and Band Banquet, hear updates from our committee chairs, and more. As always, all parents and students are welcome to join us! Details on how to join the Zoom meeting were in this weeks Band email.
