It takes all of us to keep the band program running smoothly. Please consider volunteering for one of our open positions. We are still in search of volunteers for the following positions:

• Spirit Wear: Selecting, advertising, distributing spirit wear.
• Photography: Taking and sharing pics of the band/guard.
• Tailgate: Orchestrating ordering food and organizing the volunteers who sign up to help.
• Uniforms: Helping students find what they need and keeping everything organized in the closet.
• Concert Programs: Designing, printing concert programs, including finding advertisers.
• Citrus Sale: Planning and managing the winter citrus sale.

Tag Day is one of the first big events and the most important fundraiser for South Lakes Bands.  This year it will be a hybrid of online and in person (September 11), and is being organized by senior parents, John and Shannen Setlik. In order to help with a smooth transition for future years anyone willing to work on this committee could shadow them this year.  Also, they are looking for a parent or parents who could take the lead this year on advertising Tag Day through social media. This would involve creating and posting announcements on sites like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook leading up to Tag Day and then throughout the weeks following Tag Day. This was one of the most important aspects to the success of last year's all virtual campaign, and they could really use that help.  Please contact them at [email protected] if you are interested.

We are excited to welcome all of our Band Parents to our first IN PERSON Band Booster meeting since February 2020. We will meet in the SLHS Band room on August 10 at 7 pm.  We have meetings the first Tuesday of every month and is open to all of our band parents. Hope to see you there!

We welcome all our Band Parents to our Back to Band meeting on August 18th at 7 pm in the SLHS Cafeteria. Here you will learn more about the upcoming season, look at spirit wear items and explore how you can help the program with volunteer opportunities. We will also have a notary on site to notarize your over the counter medication form. Please plan to have at least one family member attend. There will be lots of information for you.

The 2021 -22 Band season has started IN PERSON and we are so excited to see everyone! Welcome to the Freshman class and the Red Shirt Freshmen (Sophomore class)! Marching Band has started and our schedule has been set.
