South Lakes High School Band Boosters Association
The South Lakes High School Band Boosters Association is a tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the band program at South Lakes. FCPS does not adequately fund music and arts programs so the SLHS Band Booster Association fundraises to meet the needs of the program. The Ban Boosters also work hours of volunteer support, maintaining uniforms, feeding the students during events, building props, loading (and unloading) rucks, moving instruments, and more.
The best way to become involved with the band's many activities is to become active in the Band Boosters. The annual meeting of the Band Boosters is held at our Spring concert in May. In addition, all band parents are invited to join us for our monthly Band Boosters meetings. Attending meetings is a great way to find out what is going on with the bands and what our future plans are, to have a voice in those plans, and to ask questions. Please refer to the weekly band email and CutTime for our current meeting schedule.
The Band Boosters have the opportunity to shape and support the SLHS band program, help decide how fundraising will be done, and have input into how the money will be spent. Our motto is "Many Hands Make Light Work!" Please come and find out what is going on with all of the SLHS bands and how YOU can get involved! There is always a lot to be done, and help is always appreciated.
