Percussion Ensemble

Advanced Band 923417 is a percussion focus class.  All percussionists at SLHS meet during this period.  Additional instruction staff beyond the director is funded by FCPS and SLHS Band Boosters. Percussion technique across a myriad of instrument is covered. Marching Band is a required element of this course and as such, students will receive an additional 0.5 weight to their GPA. Students in Percussion Ensemble will play in concerts with either Wind Ensemble or Symphonic Band depending on their skill level. Fees are a part of the course.  This co-curricular course does have after school, evening and weekend commitments. ​
