Parents, we have booster volunteer openings and new committees forming for the 2020-21 school year. This is a great way to support our kids while getting to know other band parents! We'll be highlighting new opportunities each week. Check out the opportunities below and email the contact with questions or to volunteer:

• Student Experience Committee - This group will look at ways to engage with and support our band students (and parents) in these unusual times, including preserving traditions for our seniors, welcoming our new band students/families, and creating opportunities for the kids to be "together."

• Bylaws Committee - This year, we'll undertake a periodic review of our bylaws, particularly as it relates to the current need for virtual meetings, votes, etc.

• Restaurant Night Chair - This person will coordinate restaurant night fundraisers at local restaurants, including contacting restaurants about terms & dates, coordinating with other SLHS organizations so there's no overlap and working with the Communications Committee to promote the events.

Because of COVID, our amazing Band family has not had the opportunity to see each other in person. As we see this trend continuing with online classes and virtual meetings, our Board has come up with a way to bring us together. Throughout the fall, we'll be hosting virtual gatherings for band students on some Friday evenings. Mark your calendar for Friday, September 11th for the first gathering - a "virtual watch party" of marching band shows & memories from the last 3 years!

Thank you to all those who attended the virtual annual membership meeting of the SLHS Band Boosters in June. Not only did we have the quorum we needed to vote on the officers and budget for next year, the technology worked as we had hoped, and everything went smoothly. Since minutes will not be approved and posted for some time, we wanted to share some key results from the meeting.
