The South Lakes community always looks forward to the band’s annual citrus sale.  Oranges and grapefruit are now at the peak of deliciousness. Information will be distributed in the band classes this week on Wednesday and Thursday (depending on when you have band).  Sales start immediately. Each student is asked to sell 8 boxes of fruit. If you do not want to sell fruit, please consider donating $75 to the SLHS Band Boosters. Fruit may be purchased and donated to the SLHS Pantry. Use your social media to get sales. Money must be submitted with orders or the order will not be placed.  As an added incentive this year, the Band Boosters will be donating four $50 Amazon gift cards. Each box of citrus that you sell earns you and an entry in the raffle for gift cards!!!
No late orders will be accepted due to the turnaround time required by the vendor.  Fruit pickup will be at Sam’s Club in Sterling, VA. If you cannot pick up your fruit, please arrange for another student to do so.  Fruit cannot be stored at school and any orders not picked up will be donated to a local food pantry. Performers Needed for This Year’s “Take the Stage” Music Jam, Sponsored by the SLHS Band Boosters
“Take the Stage” is our annual Music Jam and we need you to perform in this fabulous and fun band fundraiser. We are seeking all types of musical acts—bands, trios, duos and soloists are all welcome. The event will be held on Sunday, February 23rd,2020 at Ned Devine’s in Herndon, VA. It is a great way for kids to perform on a real stage (complete with awesome sound & lighting run by actual pros) for an appreciative live audience! Apply yourself or recruit your friends. Parents, please encourage your kids to join in the fun. In addition to showcasing young talent, this event is a fundraiser for the SLHS Band Boosters. CLICK HERE for details and rules, and to apply to participate.
