The Band Booster Organization
The Band Boosters are a tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the band program at South Lakes. Fairfax County does not fund many band expenses so the Booster Association conducts fundraising to meet the needs of the program. The Boosters also provide countless hours of volunteer support ranging from uniform maintenance, providing refreshments and logistical support moving the band. There is always a job to be done to support the band program.
The best way to become involved with the bands' many activities is to become active in the Band Boosters. The annual meeting of the Band Boosters is held in the Spring. In addition, all band parents are invited to join us for Band Boosters Board meetings which are held once a month, usually on the second Tuesday of the month, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the SHLS Band room (Room 360). (There are always a few exceptions with the dates - please check the schedule below!) Attending meetings is a great way to find out what is going on with the bands and what our future plans are, to have a voice in those plans, and to ask questions.

The Band Boosters have the opportunity to shape and support the SLHS band program, help decide how fundraising will be done, and have input into how the money will be spent. Our motto is "Many Hands Make Light Work!" Please come and find out what is going on with all of the SLHS bands and how YOU can get involved! There is always a lot to be done, and help is always appreciated.
