Important Rules for Performing Groups
1. Band must be available to play on Sunday, February 24th between 4 pm and 9 pm at Ned Devine’s, 2465 Centreville Rd, Herndon, VA 20171.
2. Age Limit - Band members must be 18 years old (high school age) or younger.
3. Band must be unsigned.
4. Band members may only enter and play with one band.
5. All applications to perform must be received by midnight on Friday, February 1st, 2019. DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4th, 2019.
6. For bands that are selected, a registration form must be completed with additional details regarding the band and songs to be played for use in publicity. All band members must be listed on the registration form. Parent or guardian permission to play is required.
7. If chosen to perform, bands will have between 15-25 minutes to play, depending on the number of bands selected. Your lineup must include at least one original song.
8. Performance must be suitable for a family audience; bands’ names and lyrics must be free of obscenities.
9. Band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities or references to drugs, sex, or alcohol.
10. In order to keep everyone safe, bands who encourage moshing or any other potentially dangerous acts will be disqualified. Additionally, fires, pyrotechnics, fog machines, etc. are not allowed.
11. Bands must supply their instruments including symbols (PA system, amps, mics, monitors, and basic drum kit will be provided).
12. Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment. The SLHS Band Boosters will not be held responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.
13. The SLHS Band Boosters reserves the right to make any necessary changes to program rules and have the final word in any disputes that arise.
14. All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likenesses used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without any compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
15. A performance schedule will be provided once finalists are announced. Bands must check in at least 30 minutes prior to their performance time.
