Flags for Veterans Outreach

The South Lakes HS band's Flags For Veterans Outreach Program gives students the opportunity to support US Veterans while raising funds for their trip to the 2017 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade.  The band is teaming up with Honor Flight Network to support US veterans - the very heroes we will be marching to honor in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade!
Make a donation to help us get to Hawaii
and the band will donate a flag to
support US Veterans!

You give $10  – We donate a US flag to Honor Flight Network
Flags are used by Honor Flight volunteers to greet veterans as they arrive and depart from DC and at the memorials they visit

You give $20 – We donate a US flag to Honor Flight Network AND dedicate it to the honoree of your choice
Your dedication will be acknowledged at band concerts, featured on the commemorative shirt that band members wear on the trip, and will appear on our website

NOTE AS OF 11/12/17: THE DEADLINE FOR HONOREES TO BE INCLUDED ON THE TRIP SHIRT HAS NOW PASSED. YOUR LOVED ONE WILL BE HONORED AT AN UPCOMING BAND CONCERT AND ON OUR WEBSITE. THANK YOU!

In the event that Honor Flight Network is unable to use a flag, we will donate it to another organization that honors veterans
Your tax-deductible donation will be deposited with the SLHS Band Boosters Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit, to be used for trip-related expenses

About Honor Flight Network

"A non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterans with honor and closure"

Honor Flight Network was created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials.

Beyond the Flags

Our support for Honor Flight Network extends beyond donating flags!
  • Band students and family members are serving as volunteer greeters at the airports and memorials
  • Working with Honor Flight Network here in the Washington, DC area, our students are performing for visiting veterans on their arrival/departure at Reagan-National and Dulles airports
