We are accepting donations of gently used (and fabulous!) items to sell! The SLHS Band Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit - we will provide donation receipts on request.
You do not need to price your items, we will do all pricing. Unsold items will NOT be returned and will be donated to a charitable organization - our goal is to donate locally, so the items donated help in our own community!

The SLHS "Spirit of Reston" Marching Band is holding a rummage sale!
All proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund the band's trip to perform in the 2017 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu, HI! Please come out and help us on our "March to Pearl Harbor!"
When: Saturday May 13th from 8am - 1pm.
Where: East side of South Lakes HS along Seahawks Drive. Ample free parking is available.
What: Items donated by over 75 families - including children's toys, sporting goods, tools, household items, books, media, electronics and more! Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase, including yummy Hawaiian shave ice from Kona Ice!
Bonus! Get your car washed while you shop! The SLHS JROTC is holding a car wash fundraiser adjacent to the rummage sale. You can get Mom's car washed and shop for her Mother's Day gift at the same time!

If you are interested in the Pearl Harbor Parade trip but missed prior communication, please email Grayson Fore IMMEDIATELY at email@example.com. The window for participation is closing! Communication regarding the trip has been shared through numerous channels (e.g., to 8th grade band students via email & letter through the Hughes and Carson band directors, to current SLHS band students via Charms email, announcements and letter, and to the general public through our website and social media.) We realize, however, that papers get lost, email addresses change, families get busy, etc. - so we're sending out one last call for participants!
The Spirit of Reston is truly earning their title of "Best Band In The Land" this year. Performing the show States of Water, the Marching Seahawks captured first place in percussion at both BOA in Herndon and at the US Marine Corps Invitational in Annapolis.
Mr. Fore is collecting student travel contracts and deposits for the marching band's December 2017 trip to Honolulu, HI to march in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. Please send in your student contract and deposit as soon as possible!
Information about the trip has been sent to current SLHS band students through the Charms system and to 8th grade band students at Rachel Carson MS and Langston Hughes MS (i.e., future Seahawks) via the band directors at those schools. If you will be a South Lakes HS student in the 2017-2018 school year and are interested in going on the trip but have not received trip information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can be in contact. All SLHS marching band members for the 2017-2018 school year will be eligible to go on the trip - this includes wind, percussion (battery and front ensemble) and color guard. (Note - color guard is open to all SLHS students - you do not need to play an instrument to participate.)

For those interested in the December 2017 trip to Honolulu for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade...please note that we are still working with the appropriate parties to determine the schedule and details regarding travel contracts, payments, etc. So not to worry! You haven't missed anything at this point! As mentioned at the information meeting on 3/31, the dates, amounts, etc. presented at the meeting represented estimates or examples. We will keep everyone informed of updates as they are available through email from your band director and on our website.
Parents and students interested in learning more about the SLHS Marching Band's 2017 trip to Hawaii are invited to attend an information meeting on Thursday, 3/31 at 7 pm in the South Lakes HS Lecture Hall. Important information will be provided to current and future Seahawk band members (7th grade and up) and their families, and there will be time allotted for Q&A. Congratulations to all of the bands who performed at the Battle of the Bands at Ned Devine's on Sunday, February 21st. The judges had a tough job in choosing the top three finishers - Cymbalize, Citizen's Arrest & Catchin' Toads. Thank you to the performers, judges, volunteers, sponsors and spectators who made the evening a great success!
