eScrip
is the national program that replaced Safeway's old
register receipt program. It costs you nothing, and up
to 3% of your grocery bill will be donated to the
Seahawk Band. During the 2005-2006 school year, the
Seahawk Band made $596. This year we hope to increase
that amount dramatically. The program runs from
October through May, and everyone has to reregister
each year. (You do not have to have a band student to
register! Ask your neighbors and friends to support
the band through eScrip!)
How do you sign up? First, you must have a Safeway card. That is the card you have scanned when you shop in order to get the special prices that Safeway gives to cardholders. If you have the Safeway card, the easiest way to sign up is to go to the eScrip web site, using this link or by visiting www.escrip.com and clicking on "sign up" in the orange "parents/children" menu. The next page will allow you to enter our group ID, 150627634, or you can search for us by name (enter South Lakes). Remember to click the appropriate radio button so the site knows whether you are entering the ID number or a name. Select the SLHS Band Boosters from the resulting list. Then enter your name/address, etc. and click next. Then you will be prompted for your Safeway card number. Enter it and click next. Then you can enter various credit and debit card information. This part is completely optional and will not do us any good unless you use those cards at the fairly small number of merchants that are part of the program. Eddie Bauer, Payless Shoes, and The Sharper Image are some of these stores. Enter your credit card info or just leave it blank. Then you have a chance to review and approve the information you have entered. That is all there is to it. You can also set up an eScrip account so you can go back and make changes.
To make it even easier to sign up, there will be registration forms at various band events, and a Band Booster volunteer can enter it all for you!
Please note that credit/debit card information is NOT required at all! At Safeway, donations are controlled by the Safeway card. That is the important card to register. When you shop, you can pay with any credit card and the band will still get credit as long you have the cashier scan your Safeway card.
